Group supervision enhances supervisees personal and professional development, self-awareness, knowledge and skill to enhance, empower or sustain therapeutic relationship with their clients. It offers an opportunity to look inwards, towards their own biases and self-limitations. Competent clinicians who have greater self-awareness are also able to more easily keep professional boundaries and to avoid dangerous levels of countertransference and enmeshment with clients.
Singapore Association for Counselling (SAC) requires 60 hours of supervision to ensure you are able to be a Registered Counsellor. 60 hours of Individual supervision can be financially challenging. Group Supervision facilitates this goal in a is cost effective. It gives a different perspective from individual supervision. Supervisees can gain from experiences shared by different group members.
